Hey everyone! This post is an extension of last weeks Day Trippin’ post. With beautiful warm weather coming our way it’s always good to have an arsenal of ideas ready for fun family day trips. Here are some more great family-friendly day trip ideas in the Wilmington, Delaware region but feel free to use these ideas to explore similar areas in your hometown. Reading the post entitled Where is the Camera, by fellow blogger Fly Like A Girl reminded me to tell you all that when you go day trippin’ make sure you don’t forget your camera!
Close to home? Check! Affordable? Check! The Brandywine Zoo is a small 12-acre zoo located right off of the Brandywine river in Wilmington, Delaware. There you can find otters, llamas, monkeys and more!
Check out the historical Winterthur Museum for a family day together that is rich in local history. Kids will love visiting the magical Enchanted Woods while adults will enjoy learning the history of this old DuPont home.

Come explore the work of award-winning mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar located on Philadelphia’s exciting and eclectic South Street. Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens is a permanent art exhibit featuring colorful glass bottles, hand-made tiles, and other shimmering knickknacks that will surely mesmerize kids and adults alike.
Come support local businesses and stop by this family owned orchard for a day of fun in any season of the year. Milburn Orchards offers things hayrides, a farm market and bake shop and you-pick fruit adventures where you can pick your own berries and apples! Yum!
Delaware State Parks
What more perfect way to enjoy the warm spring weather than to spend it outside in a state park? All of the Delaware State Parks are different and have their own array of activities available. Some of the park features include boating rentals, camping, playgrounds, hiking trails and more. Check out your local state park to see what it has to offer.
